From the name of workshop fardā, which means "tomorrow" in Persian, the company wishes to offer a offer of responsible clothes while respecting the environment and above all, from a sustainable perspective.
Zahra Arabzadeh was born in Iran and immigrated to Canada in 1989 with his family.Passionate about fashion since her childhood, she did a design training before working in the clothing industry for more than ten years.
In an interview with the action, she says that she worked in this environment in Montreal, but that she did not like her work and the concept of "disposable mode".
"There was no ethics, I did not like the values of my work.It did not correspond to me, I who am a person who loves the planet, ”she says.
The idea of founding Atelier Fardā was born during the pandemic."Fardā, it refers to the planet, the future and everything that is eco -responsible.We have the environment at heart, "explains Hugo Jeanson.
"We are from Joliette and it was important for us to establish our business here and help the community. If the first collection was made in Montreal, entrepreneurs are looking for seamstresses in the region for future creations.
Eco -responsible clothes
In an interview with the action, Zahra and Hugo detailed their vision of eco -responsible fashion. They underline that everything that ensures an ecological seal in creations is what is done behind the garment in all the shutters of the company.
"The fabric we choose is natural or recycled polyester.Next season, we are going to work with organic fabrics made in Quebec. Tous nos tissus sont certifiés écoresponsables»», mentionne Zahra.
"To be eco -responsible is to have a small collection to meet demand and not surplus. We are not going in mass production. We do the minimum of clothes and reuse all the retail.»»
Atelier Fardā also offers clothes that will not get out of fashion. The company wants to maximize the timelessness of a garment due to a minimalist design."The goal is not to sell as much as possible, but just what people need not to waste. We want to sell them clothes that will serve them as long as possible and they can even resell.»»
The company also does everything it can to reduce its ecological footprint by restricting its trips. Department stores will make all the trips of the world if they can save.Sometimes we pay more for certain materials, but we reduce our trips.»»
Fashion specialist, Zahra is available to help customers get their new purchases with their existing wardrobe and provide advice.
Reinvest in the community
And ultimately, the advantage is that everything will be reinvested in the community.»»
Atelier Fardā benefited from the support of the Economic Development Corporation of the Joliette MRC.Currently, customers come mainly from the region and the surrounding area. The goal is to make yourself known, but quietly."The goal is not to become a multinational.»»
The workshop is located at 574 rue Saint-Viator and the shop at 576.Clothes are also sold online. It is possible to visit the website or the Facebook Facebook page for more information or advice. The Fardā workshop creations are also available at the Michel Bourgeois store in Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare and the spring-summer collection will be offered at La Mercerie Roger Pauzé in downtown Joliette.
