Why we bet on Lola Nicon, the most desired top of the moment

When we talk to her, the day before the Chanel Métiers d'Art show celebrating the opening of 19M, Lola Nicon enthusiasm to be able to visit the workshops of the house, to satisfy his curiosity which one guesses overflowing – summoning music, from jazz to rock'n'roll seventies, as well as sculpture or photography. Born to an actress mother and a long-time director father, Lola spent her childhood lurking behind the scenes of a theater in Montpellier, where art and essay plays were performed. Very early on, she heard and admired languages ​​other than her own, and accustomed her ear to literature. Arrived in adolescence, spent in Toulouse, she understands that clothes can become a mode of expression, a way of awakening emotions – “even if my tastes were sometimes a little questionable”, she laughs. It was later that fashion came to seek her, on the musical terrain of the Dour Festival. On the third day, Lola is thirsty and asks for a sip from the water bottle of the man who will become her agent. But not right away: at first, she doesn't call him back, taken by her design studies at the Atelier Chardon-Savard, in Paris. The following summer, she saw him again at the same festival. In the meantime, she has decided to give herself a break and this time, agrees to play the game: “I thought it was a good opportunity to discover fashion from the inside. As a model, we interact with a lot of trades, from styling to artistic direction, make-up, production, fabrics... It feeds me day by day.” His first job? The Louis Vuitton fashion show, all simplicity. A chance of which she does not immediately grasp the scope. Then she was swept away in a whirlwind, working for Chloé, Balmain, Kenneth Ize or even Chanel, with whom she is now very close.

In 2021, she became the face of the Musc Noir perfume by Narciso Rodriguez. And here she is today on the cover of Vogue France, surrounded by two other top models that she esteems: “The more we meet, with Mika and Malika, the closer the bond becomes... Our shared professional experiences are always pleasant. I get along very well with the other models – it's a dating job, that's what I like. Contrary to what some like to think, we all like each other. This cliché of rivalry is foreign to me.”

Despite her young age, Lola Nicon expresses herself bluntly, assumes a straight talk without concealing a sensitivity that we feel on edge. Moreover, she is interested in psychology and “in the functioning of the human being”. Her father developed the Tipi method, a technique for identifying inner fears that helps to overcome emotional trauma, among other things based on body memory... A vast program that fascinates her and that she studies regularly. And despite a sometimes anxiety-provoking climate and a persistent health crisis, Lola maintains her good mood. “I learn to be happy with what I have, what I had and what I will have,” she says. I like the idea of ​​living everything that is possible for me to live, surrounded by those who matter to me. It is beautiful to be in the world.”
