As an added Gemini-like adaptability, Deerling and Sawsbuck can live almost any where. They are also social, like Gemini, with their own kind. However, they don't particularly like being around humans.

Chikorita was famously affectionate towards Ash in the anime, and that would have done absolutely anything to make Ash happy. That's something Chikorita and Cancers have in common. When they regard someone as their family, nothing will stop them from protecting that person.
