The sun's rays pierce the window of Laura Charlot workshop, nestled in the heart of her apartment, in Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados).On his work table, two machines are waiting to launch their crazy race.Just below, fabrics are meticulously stored.Clothes already made wisely wait before leaving in Italy, in one of the shops with which the designer works.

Dresses, shirts, kimonos and waves of patterns and colors.It is in this little universe that Laura gives life to many pieces for her brand Studio Myosis.By taking its time, and respecting the planet.

Original pieces

It was thanks to her grandmother that Laura made her first pieces.By dragging home, the designer fell on old colorful fabrics, with sometimes completely kitsch patterns."It was good because I didn't want to make united clothes at all.His first piece was a shirt made to leave ... from a Provencal tablecloth.

Creation after creation, she realized that her universe pleased."People like to have shirts or kimonos that come out of originality, rather than more classic clothes."The case was taking, so she decided to set up her company Studio Myosis in October 2019.She then lived in Paris.

An arrival in Trouville

Between whim and crush, Laura and her spouse settled in Trouville-sur-Mer a few months ago.A town where its creations had already found a foot-to-terre, at the Villa Gipsy.

And since then, everything has gone very quickly.She participated in the meetings of creators at the Marine Cures, found herself a place in the concept store smile in Rouen, then in the creators' patio, in Carcassonne."I walk a lot with ephemeral shops (see box editor's note).It lasts a few months then they send me my stock and I send it back to other shops, it avoids waste."She also made a small place in a shop in Lourmarin, near Aix-en-Provence and Italy, Geno, where she was spotted thanks to Instagram."It pleases well because the Italians are very motive," she smiles before recognizing: overall, it works well and I'm happy that it does it with real values.»»

Endless fabrics

Giving a second life to the fabrics is also above all knowing how to choose them well.To recover it, it multiplies the sources: at Emmaüs in Pont-l'évêque, on Vinted or Le Bon Coin, etc..

And always in an anti-gaspi approach, she uses too small falls and fabrics to create accessories, like darlings.
