Why should you put white vinegar in your laundry?! #TrucGrano
For almost a year now, I've been trying to go green on the laundry side, because I really want to try to reduce my impact on the planet as much as possible. I use biodegradable laundry soap, dryer balls, and most importantly, white vinegar.
What about vinegar? Good yes! As simple and easy as that.
I know, many of you are wondering if I have a stuffy nose (answer: no!) or if the smell of my clothes is fine (no complaints since and I meet a lot of people) . But in fact, putting vinegar in your laundry has plenty of benefits.
I have been a lot in the reappropriation of knowledge for some time and I tell myself that it is important to look at the different tricks of our grandmothers for the organization of a house because they have more than one trick in their bag. It's mostly fun because it can be bought in bulk and costs about two dollars for two liters or more.
The only thing to know is to take distilled white vinegar to do your laundry. If you are lucky enough to have a fabric softener compartment, you can put some in it, otherwise I put it directly in the tank and it helps a lot!
But why does it help, you will tell me? Well, I prepared a list for you.
Soften clothes. As I take dryer balls, I sometimes feel like my clothes just have a little "static" and it's kidding me. Vinegar has softening properties on all clothes. Even if you hang them to dry.
Burst of color. As a pre-soaking agent (250ml in the washing machine), vinegar fixes the colors of your clothes. In the washer, in small doses, it keeps the colors of your clothes more vibrant.
Clean the washing machine. Especially for front-load washers that can develop a peculiar smell, running a cycle without clothes cleans the washer and restores a neutral smell.

Hunting task. Vinegar has properties to help dissolve stains. I add oxyclean sometimes for a more intense treatment, but otherwise just vinegar helps a lot. Especially for white washable sanitary napkins.
Deodorizes. Vinegar doesn't stink, in fact, it even helps deodorize clothes. On sportswear, it's a charm.
Revives the white. You can make your own bleach with borax, vinegar, and lemon, but if not, just vinegar will help revive the whites.
Kills bacteria. Vinegar helps kill bacteria on clothes. Very practical when you forget your loads in the washer.
Help woollens. The fabric-softening properties of vinegar help soften woolens and prevent shrinkage as well. You just need to wash at the right temperature and ensure a good air drying. I have the impression that my knitwear stings less.
Softens towels. The most fantastic thing is really how the vinegar works on the softness of the towels. You would think they had a fabric softener, but no. It is magic. And to remove dog hair from fabrics also helps.
And There you go. The procedure is quite simple. You put as much vinegar as you would have put fabric softener. Otherwise 250 ml of pre-soaking agent. For my part I go there at random for a few months.
