Bages-pieces of string: Association d'aide et d'antiwaste (Association d'aide et d'antiwaste)
The association bouts d 'étwine was founded in 2005 by parents who were tired of constantly having to throw away and buy back the necessary materials for their children. Its mission is to help each other (not social charity) and to combat waste (or even hyperconsumption) and target young mothers and their children as a priority.
The principle of operation is simple: people who no longer need children's clothing, toys, books or childcare equipment, but also adult clothing or books, come to give them to the association. The clothes are then sorted by two volunteers. Those in too bad condition are recovered for recycling by Abbé Pierre de Perpignan's workshop. The rest are classified by age and size category to be re-employed after some sewing work. Clothing is disinfected and left in storage for one week. They are then displayed in the clothing room. At each visit, members can take up to 15 items and up to 30 items in any one month.
Adults' books are available free of charge in a wardrobe at the entrance to the village's Vival grocery store.
The men's business is given to Perpignan's maraud to help the homeless.

Finally, there is a free clothing loan service. These are on the one hand ski facilities and on the other hand disguises for Halloween, Christmas and carnival.
To make all of this work, a dynamic team of four volunteers officiates: Nadine Bouhedda, Cathy Cabrera, Antoinette Campasol and Régine Lapedra, President of bits d'Tune.
After 16 years of activity, the association now has more than 300 members, including Bagaeans, but not only since there are inhabitants spread out of Banyuls, Prades and Rivesaltes and outside the county with Narbonne. Nadine Bouhedda sums up the spirit of the association: "donation, exchange, conviviality". Régine Lapedra notes that "there have been a lot of clothes brought in during the holidays". So now is the right time to come to the clothing shop and join the association!
Twine tips are reserved for adults and membership is €5 per year. There is no means test. The premises, on loan from the town hall, are located in the old school opposite the Maison des Associations and are accessible by the parking lot of the town hall.
