The Canadian chain of discount stores wants to increase its number of stores to 300, while it has more than 260. It is investing in upgrades both in its stores and in its e-commerce activities.
According to the daily "La Presse", the retailer's first store was opened by founder Gordon Reid in Ottawa's ByWard Market in 1961. Giant Tiger now has approximately 10,000 employees and its annual sales have surpassed the 2 billion mark in 2018.
