How to recycle baby clothes?
Beebody manufactures and sells baby bodysuits in organic and durable cotton, while taking care of the recycling part to offer them a new life!
Zoom on this concept of committed circular economy, good for baby and the planet, opposite the fast fashion.
Baby fashion: a challenge
That the t-shirt, body or baby pajamas are organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly does not prevent a large quantity in a record time.
In adults, it is easy to wear a t-shirt ethically and sustainable and keep it for a long time! For baby, on the other hand, the duration of use rarely exceeds the month ...
So yes, the second hand exists, but Beebody goes further by proposing to manage production - fully done in Portugal and soon in part in France -, recycling and buyout, then restarting on their website.
Beebody: How does this virtuous circle work?
According to the state of the returned clothing, two options.
Either it is in poor condition, and it is sent directly to a clothing recycling plant to be crushed. The fiber is then recovered, passed down and removed, to obtain a new organic cotton perfectly recycled.
Either baby's clothing is in good condition, it can be repaired or simply controlled and put up for sale on the Beebody website.
Ultimately, this is the ambition of this virtuous circle: produce as little as possible and recycle as much as possible."The final goal is really to have a closed loop and that the garment is no longer considered a consumable like others," explains Samuel Levy, managing director and co-founder of Beebody.
A major challenge, so Beebody makes sure to simplify the procedure as much as possible!
Beebody: How to send back the clothes?
Return your old clothes is free, not limited in time, and allows you to obtain a voucher whose value depends on the condition of the garment, and which you can then use on your next Beebody order.
Either we scan a QR code that explains the procedure to follow, or we go directly to the website.
There, just request a prepaid return label to stick on your package, fill it with the dry and clean clothing (s), then place it in a nearest collection point (Colissimo or Mondial Relay).

"This avoids problems related to what is happening in China, with Uighurs for example. We cannot do ethics and sell a body at 2 euros. This transparency is important, ”says Samuel Levy.
