The creation of Transport Blin Services Express, founded in La Sauvagère (Orne), dates back 30 years.

With considerable development, it is now based in Saint-André-de-Briouze.

Over the years, it has developed in the field of transport in light vehicles, starting with the transport of photos, bank mail, medical products and express courier.

The e-commerce bet

In the early 2000s, the company finally moved to Saint-André-de-Briouze to be able to expand with the construction of a warehouse which will be used for the maintenance of the vehicle fleet.

In 2003, Joël Blin, co-manager with his wife Valérie, made the bet to embark on the transport of goods in relay point and home delivery from E-commerce, at the very beginning of the extension of the Internet.

At that time, it was a small business that employed two to three people.

Other types of transport

After 29 years of existence, the company is adapting to other types of transport such as medical analyzes under controlled temperature, pharmaceutical or banking products.

Flexible, the company can also sometimes adapt to the demand of certain customers such as emergency transport throughout France.

Currently, the home delivery activity is in full swing, not to mention the relay points.

Every day, about twenty vehicles are on the roads. Gaëtan, the son, joined the company in December 2010 then obtained his certificate of capacity and freight forwarder of more than 3.5 t in 2014, which allowed him to place himself on the truck market.

The relay business explodes

At the start of 2017, the pick-up point parcel business literally exploded and once again required the company to be restructured.

Twice a day, large volume trucks go to the Caen region to pick up the parcels. All deliveries leave from Saint-André-de-Briouze.

"In 2019, the individual-to-individual e-commerce market is exploding, you have to adapt to the clientele," says Gaëtan Blin.

In 2020, despite the partial closure of the company following the health crisis, the premises were extended, hence the purchase of a semi-trailer.

“The business is still growing”

Currently, 19 people work in the family business. More than 70 relay points in Orne le Sud Calvados are delivered from Tuesday to Saturday by six light vehicles.

According to Joël Blin, “approximately one million parcels are delivered per year and allow the dispatch of 400,000 parcels in relay point networks and 7,000 parcels at home. Despite the current health situation, the company is still growing. »
