Rivers. The Vibrato trio sings Christmas, joy and peace on Sunday

Sunday, December 19, at 3 p.m., in the church of Rivières, three opera singers will give a Christmas concert. Mona Bersi shone in the region for years, with her partner Marco, offering a varied repertoire as a duo, from great opera arias to the lighter tones of operetta and even popular song. The sudden death of Marco could have definitively broken Mona's momentum, but the pleasure of singing, engraved in her DNA, and the attraction of the stage were stronger than the mourning. Mona has found two talented partners who share her enthusiasm, and, at the cost of long rehearsals, they perform and meet on their way rounds of applause and thanks. They revisit a legendary repertoire, refresh the memory, rediscover the magic of Christmas and make you want to hum with them. Sunday, the three Vibrato will compose an afternoon in two parts. Mona will set the tone on waltz n. 2 by Shostakovich, with her own texts on the protection of the planet, followed by Alycia on Leonard Cohen's Alleluia and texts composed by the Priests. Then will come the turn of Jeanne on Handel's sarabande, sung in Greek.

Jeanne and Mona will find themselves in duet on the Child with the drum, preceding Alycia on Amazine Grace, an Irish Christmas carol. Mona will sing Inch’Allah, for a reconciliation of religions and peoples of the East. Alycia (C’est beau la vie), then Mona and Jeanne, on a Martinican Christmas, will conclude this first act. At the recovery we will have a thought for Joséphine Baker (I have two loves). This was followed by Pays de rêve, Offenbach (Barcarole), Schubert and his Ave Maria, Douce Nuit, Minuit Chrétien, Mille Colombes and the song of the Restos du Cœur. We bet that the public will not be left out to take up these tunes which have made people sing and which have enchanted generations. The Vibrato are back, to captivate their audience, to show that the pleasure of singing and hearing has no age or border.
