The teddy bear mini jumpsuit tutorial
1. Before cutting the fabric, assemble the pattern pieces presented in several parts. Fold the fabric in half, right sides together. Trace the enlarged pattern with the tailor's chalk. Cut the following pieces: 1 x Back A and B at the fold, 2 x Front A and B facing each other, 2 x Sleeve at the fold, Hood center 1 x in the velvet and 1 x lining, Hood side in screw -à-vis 2 x in the velor and 2 x in the lining, 4 x Ear, Belly 1 x in the velor and 1 x in the lining. The seam allowances are included in the pattern, the inside line indicates the seam.
2. The jumpsuit: right sides together, sew the fronts from mark A to the crotch. Stitch the back dart from mark A to the crotch.
3. Right sides together, sew the sleeve raglan to the back and front pieces. Then close the undersleeves and the sides of the suit in the extension. Notch the seam allowances under the sleeves to avoid wrinkles.
4. Right sides together, assemble the crotch, notch the seam allowances in the curve. Return to the location.
5. Form a 1 cm tuck in at the bottom of the sleeves and legs. Hand sew the slip stitch hems.
6. Transfer the belly template to the back of the velvet and sew the 2 layers (velour and lining) right sides together on the template line, leaving an opening between marks B and C. Cut 5 mm outside the seam line, turn over, iron, close the opening by hand.
7. The hood: right sides together stitch the sides of the hood liner with the center of the hood liner. Transfer the ear template 2 x to the back of the velvet and sew the 2 layers, right sides together, on the template line, leaving an opening between marks D and E. Cut 3 mm outside of the seam line. Go back. Fold the ears in half at the base (diagram 1). Assemble the velvet hood like the lining by inserting the ears marked D and E at the marks F and G. Right sides together, sew the lining to the hood by the front edge.
8. Right sides together, sew the velvet hood to the neckline of the jumpsuit, starting in the middle of the right or left front. Finish by joining the velvet flap to the hood lining. At the center back, form a tucked in at the edge of the lining and sew it by hand along the neckline seam.
9. Sew the snap on the top of the Front to close the suit. Center the belly on the Front and sew it by hand with slip stitches on the unopened part (diagram 2).
