The National Assembly adopts the increase in the basic VAT exemption in the West Indies and Reunion

The measure will lighten the wallets of consumers, who will be billed without VAT.

The mechanism for increasing the basic VAT exemption was directly derived from the law of February 28, 2017, known as the programming relating to real equality overseas, which provided for an experiment for a period of 5 years .

The measure was therefore due to disappear on March 1, 2022. The extension of the experiment will therefore give a second wind to these territories, whose small businesses have been particularly affected by the health crisis.
