TikTok: audio assistant Alexa offers an extremely dangerous challenge to a child

A mother shared on social media the very dangerous challenge that Alexa, Amazon's intelligent voice assistant, offered her 10-year-old daughter.

The challenge could have turned into drama. While playing with her 10-year-old daughter on December 26, Kristin L. came up with the idea of soliciting Alexa, her vocal assistant, to give her ideas for challenges. We have made some physical challenges, such as lying down and turning around holding a shoe on our feet, a challenge launched by a sports teacher on YouTube, she explains in a tweet.

Très dangereux, ce challenge peut provoquer des décharges électriques, des incendies et d’autres dommages sur le corps.

Kristin L. hastened to tell the event on Twitter, resulting in a host of retweets and catastrophic responses from netizens. Result: Amazon has taken the lead. After an automatic response from the American giant inviting the mother to report the incident, a technical support officer assured to work on the problem.

Since then, other netizens have tried to ask Alexa for a challenge, who seemed to no longer be able to offer one. In a press release to CTVNews, an Amazon spokesperson said: "Customer trust is at the centre of everything we do and Alexa is designed to provide accurate, relevant and useful information to customers. As soon as we became aware of this mistake, we took quick steps to correct it."

The intelligent assistant should no longer be able to offer a challenge, or to sort out all the challenges that have become viral in recent years (find in this article all the most dangerous TikTok phenomena of 2021).
