Twitch is re-educating its streamers
NEWSby Marc, emailFaced with the heat wave that seems to be hitting users of the Twitch platform unexpectedly, the streaming giant reminds them that being dressed in front of your webcam is not necessarily a bad thing. It is through a summary soberly titled "rules of behavior", that the service tries to inculcate some good manners in its streamers, not without humor elsewhere. Indeed we will particularly quote this passage: "do not wear clothing or sexually explicit clothing such as lingerie, bathing suits, nipple shields, underwear as well as being shirtless. This applies to both women and men. You surely have beautiful chocolate bars, but it's better to share them on the beach during a two-on-two volleyball match while listening to Playing with the boys”. After reminding that its platform was not designed to be an active cybersex-soliciting service, Twitch takes advantage to remind you of the fundamentals, let's cite in bulk: do not promote self-destructive attitudes (get drunk behind your cam), do nothing illegal (do not smoke cigarettes that make you laugh behind your cam), do not do not slander, do not produce racist/sexist/homophobic speech or any other hate speech, do not harass service personnel or other channels etc. In short, things that may seem to be obvious in the 21st century in a world supposed to be almost civilized. Any offender will obviously risk having his chain suspended. However, it's easy for Twitch to come and lecture its users. Remember that the service still does not filter streams broadcasting violent 18+ games or games with explicit content, while a good part of its audience must certainly be among minors. However, it would be enough just to put a warning page in order to report adult content before each video of these games. Amazon (which bought Twitch in August) must have thought that a little lesson and a rule on the fingers would be enough, would give them a clear conscience and above all would cost nothing!
